When the piece was dry enough to handle, the mountain scene design was carved into the bowl using the sgraffito technique, revealing the contrasting clay color underneath. It was then fired in the kiln at 2170F. The clay is a warm ivory colored ceramic stoneware and the whole piece is glazed in a clear coat. H: 2. 75" D: 5" W: 5"
