The dome can be removed for candles. This piece is created by raku firing, in an intensely hot and oxygen starved atmosphere. The clay and glazes are forced to create their own oxygen, resulting in the white glaze crackling and holding onto the carbon from the fire, and giving the railings a moody rustic look. This
