Elm Kang Table From Shanxi - 19th Century Occasional Tables brass peacock coat hooks onThis kang table is from Shanxi province and dates from the late 19th century. Kang tables were used on either side of the kang, a raised stone platform in wealthy Chinese homes used as a bed. Traditionally the kang was heated in winter. The original red lacquer & paintwork still remains and it has beautiful floral carvings These make great tables for the end of a bed or for a small T. V or stereo system. With three useful drawers in the front to stow
