The bowls could also be used to display offerings next to an image of Buddha or at a shrine. This late 19th century Hsun Ok bowl is gilded lacquer on teak wood. The interior is red lacquer. Expertly crafted, the two halves fit together snugly and this classic style emulates the Buddhist stupas found across Burma. From
