At the Raleigh Hotel in Washington DC there were Wheatless Wednesdays

The restaurant expanded by taking over adjoining four story buildings and was soon hosting opera stars from the nearby Grand Opera House on Eighth Avenue

The three ice cubes sitting coyly on the edge of the glass. The tiny red lipstick kiss just inside the lemon peel. Great fun. We call it Alexander Cocktail after the recipe on the back of the matchbook although the ingredients in the art are definitely not those of an Alexander cocktail. Just in case you were wondering
