Chinese Elm Horseshoe Chair - Late 19thC Nandi Bulls Large - 120 diameter xThis exceptionally good antique Chinese horseshoe chair dates to the 19th century and is constructed from elm & blackwood. The horseshoe chair design originated in the Ming dynasty (1368 1644) more than 500 years ago. The most iconic and one of the most graceful of Chinese chair designs, yuanyi (meaning round chair) were given the name horseshoe chair by westerners. The rattan seat has been replaced as so many were damaged in the 20th century. At the
