Brass Bound Indian Teak Chest - 18th Century Bucket '53 stations of the TokaidoThis antique Indian brass bound chest dates to the 19th century. It would have been used for storing valuables such as textiles, jewelry & cash. There is an interior box for storing candles which would have been valuable, especially in the darker times of the year. It has two large drawers with a smaller secret central drawer for maps. The wheels are concealed behind wonderfully carved covers and make moving this piece easier even when fully loaded. A
