Carved Tribal Totem Panel from Nagaland - 19thC Style - Tea Caddy 54 x 54 x 90(wThis majestic tribal panel comes from Nagaland, North East India. Totems were found in two areas of Naga villages either side of the entrance to the village or inside the morung (mens dormitory). The panel is carved from a single piece of wood from the hollock tree (terminalia myriocarpa) also known as the East Indian almond tree. It has abstract depictions of skulls at its top.
