Tribal Silver Saptamatrika Amulet - 19th Century Period - 18th Century 11 x 8 x 25A Rajasthani tribal silver amulet depicting Saptamatrika or Sapta Apsara. The Saptamatrika were seven mother goddesses in Hinduism they are accompanied by an eighth guardian figure, Bhairava, a fearsome manifestation of Shiva. Each mother is a feminine counterpart of a Hindu god. Their names are Brahmani, Maheshvari, Kaumari, Vaishnavi, Varahi, Indrani & Chamunda. These traditional tribal silver amulets come from Rajasthan and acted as protection
