Peyrassol, Cotes de Provence Blanc Le Clos, 2022 SO021326 Dutraive and Gamay — a kindEight hundred years of winemaking and a single grape in the bottle. La Commanderie de Peyrassol was founded by the Knights Templar in the 13th century and has been making wine on this Provence estate ever since; Philippe Austruy took over in 2001 and has restored the place to its full ambition. Le Clos is the top white cuve: 100% Rolle (the local name for Vermentino), grown in a doline of Triassic clay and limestone surrounded by dry stone walls.
