Constructed of silver, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a plaque bearing hand engraved dates 41 42, surrounding a map of Africa defaced by a stylized Luftwaffe eagle in mid flight, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, the reverse stamped with a silver content number of T. 800, otherwise unmarked,
