Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Cross Patte with its arms joined through the inner quadrants by a circular laurel and oak leaf wreath, bearing a central Hohenzollern imperial eagle, circumscribed by an inscription of VOM FELS ZUM MEER
