The classic N 1 deck jacket was first issued in 1943 as the new protective jacket to be worn by the US Navy, designed to withstand the cold and harsh weather at sea. The jacket is made of a thick cotton grosgrain weave, also known as "Jungle cloth", and this fabric is known for it's durability and for keeping the wearer warm and dry in cold weather weather. The jacket is secondhand but is
