Sandrone founded his Barolo estate in 1978 and began separately bottling his parcel on the Cannubi hill (specifically the Cannubi Boschis sub zone) in 1985. The 1989 and 1990 vintages turned him into an international superstar; from the 2013 vintage forward, the same wine has been labeled 'Aleste' a tribute to his grandchildren Alessia and Stefano.
